Sharing common interests with people is an important aspect of friendship. When it comes to my buddy Stevsie and I, the root of our relationship stems our deep love for Nintendo games, the ever important anime DBZ, and the never ending quest of obtaining pop culture collectibles.

Stevsie and I have adored the Nintendo games for as long as I can remember. However, nothing stands out to us like Majora’s Mask and Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. When we were younger it was apparent that Ocarina was king. It was the game that everyone loved, including us. As Stevsie and I have gotten older, though, we can agree that Majora’s Mask reigns supreme. It’s different storyline and complicated gameplay makes it a unique experience that Stevsie and I truly treasure. I love playing these Nintendo games with him especially because they're so engrained in our childhood and it always brings us back to a happier time. We have an appreciation of these games that most of my other friends don’t have. That, to me, makes the Nintendo experiences all the more special.

And we live and breath Dragon Ball Z. We’re always updating each other on any news that comes our way about the DBZ  universe. It’s truly important to us to stay updated in the show that molded us into the people we are today. I have this theory that my buddy Stevsie is grand master Zeno. The reason being is Stevsie is both adorable and kind of all-knowing. A very logical and reasonable person, he embodies the kindness of grand Zeno with the authoritarian side. So if you ever need a secret of the universe Stevsie is your guy.

Spoiler Alert: remember in JG’s Playhouse when I explain about how collectible hunting is like shiny hunting in the wild? Stevsie came up with that philosophy. We have this group chat that we send our “shiny” finds once we acquire them. He’s a big part of why I got into Funkos and Toys. And although my bank account doesn’t thank him, my soul does. Because it makes my day to day activities a little more exciting. It gives me something to look forward to. To hopefully one day, be a collectible master like him.

When I analyze our connection, a bond of innocence, a bond of nostalgia, and a bond of wonder. These are things that can’t be taken lightly in a world full of darkness. So it’s important to keep in mind, even though there’s a lot of bad in the world, just remember, Grand Zeno is watching over us. I know him personally and let me tell you, he’s one hell of a guy.
