My mom has been my biggest supporter since day one. Since I was born in late November, we spent my first Thanksgiving together, side by side. She’s always there when I need her, and even when I don’t. She has natural maternal instincts in her, like a momma bear protecting her young. My mom has been a big foundation of who I am today. She's shown me the importance of caring for others and showing unconditional love. I couldn’t ask for a greater gift. In order to show you how she’s given me these attributes, let’s take a look into our relationship.

Throughout the years you would encourage me to make friends, get out there and play. So that’s what I did. Over the course of the years I’ve been able to make a plethora of friendships and a big part of that is a testament to you showing me how important it was. Throughout my entire life, literally since birth you have shown me the importance of people. And I’ve never forgotten it.

Then there’s my education exploits. You always went to battle for me. I’ve always thought I was of below average intelligence, but during my school days, you knew better. You fought the teachers and administrators tooth and nail, making sure I was given the proper treatment. You always made me feel smarter and more capable than I actually am. I couldn’t ask for a better cheerleader. You never told me to give up my dreams, whatever they may be. You've given me classes in the arts and in writing to make sure I got the proper training and education to put my best foot forward. This has made me be the hopeful and optimistic person I am today, so thanks, mom.

She's also shown me the value of understanding and compassion. Although, a very logical person, you’ve been able to put emotions in the proper place in the given situation. Which is how it should be; we’re all humans at the end of the day. And you’ve shown the most important side of our humanity. Empathy and Love, and how it factors into our decision making. It's easy to turn into a stone cold robot or an emotional wreck when it comes to decision-making but if you always find a way to balance it gracefully.

Mom, you’ve been there since the very beginning more than anyone. You’ve been my cheerleader, warrior, and most importantly, the best mom I could ask for. Sure, you may drive me absolutely crazy sometimes, but that comes with the territory. I appreciate and love you, mom, with all my heart.
