Everyone has a friend who is always trying to work on the next project, the ticket out, the next big thing. Someone who is always hustling. For me, that’s Jamal. Jamal will probably be my first friend who’s a millionaire. He’s always observing the skill trends and figuring out how he can better his life. He’s a great inspiration for someone who is rarely motivated. But we keep each other in check, bring out the best in each other and push us to go for more.
Our friendship began over ten years ago at Rowan University. Known on the campus as Mally Gee, he was always in the studio working on his shit. I would sit in on many occasions and I just saw the determination. He wanted it. He wanted to go the distance whether it be through his rap or otherwise. And together, we were a dynamic duo, Batman and Batman. I’ve studied for only a handful of tests over the years, but the ones I studied with Jamal, all perfect 100%. We aced that shit. And a whim one day we decided to go to DC, because why the fuck not? Definitely one of our more memorable experiences, and we had a fucking blast.
Jamal graduated a year before I did, but he always hit me up when he visited college, making a point to stop by and hangout. A true friend that has always had my back and just wanted me to better myself. There would be hangouts in between the next few years but our friendship of course had the resurgence over COVID. Jamal would peak my interest about the stock and crypto market, something I was completely inept at. But Jamal showed me the way, and he even created tutorials for how to invest properly. I can’t stress this enough, the guy deserves all the money he earns and then some. His work truly never stops.
Jamal, you’ve motivated me to always keep going, even when there’s doubt in my mind and the odds are against me. Your will to continue to fight is truly inspirational and I stand by it. I can’t wait to party on your yacht one day. It’ll be the complete culmination of all your hard earned success.
