Danoo was a later addition to my Holmdel friend group. He moved to my town in senior year, and we found out we were compatible immediately. I had the pleasure of introducing him at one of the high school parties I threw and he quickly became a fan favorite. I knew we would become friends to the end.
But it’s not just his calm demeanor or likable charm that makes him great. The thing that makes Danoo special is when you need him he’s always there.
Everytime he would come out to see the gang it was always special. Something that sticks out in everyone’s memories was me calling out a random person at a party exclaiming, “you’re not Danoo.” Only to have the real Danoo comfort me, saying that he was right beside me. We also had a fantastic period of going out almost every weekend of the summer. It was a memorable experience, right before my boy moved to Florida permanently. But fortunately for me I had the distinct privilege of hanging out with him each weekend. And since Danoo has moved, he always reaches out when he’s in town. Danoo always makes the attempt to see me which is more than I could ever ask for. He’s a great friend, a family member, and has shown the value of helping out the people in need.
While I was getting my MBA at Montclair University, my boy helped me get through more courses than I could count. I’m not even sure if I thanked him properly so Danoo when you read this, know that it was truly appreciated. There was no way I was ever passing my MBA course without him. Then there was the time he flew out from Florida on about two days notice for my engagement party…only to be the last one there and help with cleanup. Only to take my fiancé and I for dinner. That’s love. That’s friendship. That’s special.
People should look to Danoo for how to be an appropriate friend. He’ll always be there for you no matter what, and that’s something we can all truly aspire to.
