Who would have thought that a friend that I met through one of my other friends would end up becoming a lifelong companion? It’s always funny how that shit works. But that’s how Bijal and I’s story began. Introduced by our mutual friend Kevin, we’ve developed a bond separate from the little guy.
Bijal became the friend I could talk to for a girl’s perspective—something I never truly had. Soon after, I would make friends with many other girls. Our relationship showed me that there is great value in a female friendship for both parties and should not be discounted by any way.
Ever since I've known Bijal, she’s always had a path. She knew she was going to be a doctor—a hard task to reach for, but she had the goal in mind and fucking did it. I’ve always admired her for that—her willingness to go for what she wants and not back down no matter what. I feel like that's how Bijal and I are very similar—no matter what the obstacles are, we’re going for what we want. We enjoy the rush of a challenge and embrace any obstacles that are thrown our way.
One thing that I always loved about Bijal was her willingness to support my creativity. As we’ve seen throughout this entire process, I am quite the dreamer, but she has always been interested and invested in my creative work. For instance, although I sent my scripts to many people, she is one of the few that read them all. She would even meet with me afterward and go over the positives, the negatives, what needed to be fixed, etc. She has never judged the wacky path that I’ve put myself on. Bijal has always been there to support me. To return the favor, we supported each other, and I helped motivate her to seek the mental health treatment she needed. We’ve been there for each other for as long as I can remember.
Unfortunately for me, she moved to Cali. I remember on our last hangout we were talking about my visiting her. Not knowing a timetable or when it would happen, there was a bit of sadness and uncertainty in the air. Luckily, smarter heads prevailed. I’m not good with sensory overload, and my buddy Kevin’s wedding was coming. So, the light bulb went on—time to visit Bijal. There’s something about reuniting with a friend after traveling across great distances and time has passed. After traveling across the country with Kevin, the trio was reunited. Laughs were had, Megatron's were trolling, and most importantly, memories were made. It was a reunion of the ages.
